Met Juan Yong and Shuen Zhi for breakfast the other day.
We went to Strictly Pancakes because Juan was craving for pancakes.
So far I've been to Strictly Pancakes thrice.
It's a cozzy place and the staffs are friendly.
Since I've tried their desserts for the past two time, I decided to try something different this time round.
I ordered their Garlic Buttered Prawns, which cost $14.
It is medium stack (three pancakes) served with prawns buttered with garlic and cherry tomato salad on the side.
We're supposed to choose the type of butter to go with our pancakes.
There's salted, unsalted, Garlic plus Herb and Rum plus Raisin
I choose the Garlic and Herb butter.
One thing I really love about this dish is their sauce!
The prawns were fresh too!
It was really filling. But totally worth my $14.
Shuen Zhi ordered the Beef Skewers which also cost $14.
It is beef balls skewered accompanied with capsicum, pineapples and onions served over a medium stack.
It is served with tangy salsa sauce too.
He choose the salted butter by the way.
I tried the beef ball which is average to me. And the tangy salsa sauce was quite spicy.
It think it is quite filling too. I could see how Zhi was struggling to finish it.
Lastly, Juan ordered Strawberries and Co that cost $10.
The medium stack comes with mixed berries, cream and strawberry coulis. Not forgetting, a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
The cream was nice.
I forgot how the strawberry coulis tasted like but if I recall correctly, it was not bad.
I forgot what Juan commented about it but I think he liked it overall.
Since I'm writing a blog post about Strictly Pancakes, I shall write bout my first two trips there too.
On my first trip to Strictly Pancakes, I decided to try What-A-Spread.
It has a cool name right?! Anyway, it cost $11.
It is medium stack of peanut butter pancakes layered with Nutella served complete with Kinder Bueno and a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
I only ate like one third of it and I was already full!
I ended up finishing half of it.
But there is no doubt that this is nice!
During my second trip there, I ordered the Blackforest which is $12.
It is three chocolate pancakes severed with brandied cherries and vanilla ice cream topped with their homemade chocolate sauce and lastly a sprinkle of chocolate flakes and cream.
CHOCOLATE EVERYWHERE!!!!!
Chocolate lovers have to try this!
Ohya, you can choose what berry you want.
Either strawberries or that weird cherry in the picture above.
My trips to Strictly Pancakes were definitely worth it.
They were all so filling.
And I found out that you can downsize the pancakes from three to two. (I should have done that)
Do try them out!
