Vanilla Bar & Café.

22nd August 2013, my first time going out with Ray.

He said he wanted to go to my favourite cafe with me but I don't have one so I decided to bring him to Vanilla Bar & Cafe instead.

I've never been there before but I saw a picture of their Vanilla Dirt Cake and I was so curious about how it'll taste like.

(Sorry for the lousy quality picture)

It's a really small cafe and it's super hard to find.
We seriously got lost on the way there and had to use Google map.
But the cafe is a good place to catch up with your friends.
You can just sit there and chat for hours. And that's what Ray and I actually did.

I wanted to take more pictures of the cafe but I didn't because I didn't wanted to get judged on our first outing.

(Sorry for the lousy quality pictures)

They have two menus, their main one and their special menu.
As you can see from the menus, their food is rather affordable.

Even though the cafe is more known for it's coffee and sandwiches, we ordered the Tomato, Bacon & Prawn Pasta and Parmesan Prawn Pasta instead.

There were a range of Japanese food but I rather eat the Tomato, Bacon & Prawn Pasta.
It cost $13.90, which is super worth it to me.
This may sounds weird, but I loved their prawns.
Overall, the pasta was great too.

(Sorry for the lousy quality picture)

I wanted to try the Vanilla Dirt Cake but Ray didn't wanted to try because of how it looks.
Basically from what I heard from Deah, it's just an Oreo Cheesecake.
Just that they serve it in a flower pot with fake flowers and add some gummy worms with it.
It looks really cool, but I'm not sure if I would dare to eat it actually.

Moving on, for dessert we had Molten Chocolate Cake with French Vanilla Ice Cream
I had to stop him from eating so that I could take the photos.
I would have taken nicer photos but I felt bad for making Ray wait.
I bet I was being judged by him already. Opps, oh well.
Anyway, our dessert cost $11.50.
I REALLY LOVE THIS DESSERT.
But the cake was so small. Totally not enough for two people to share.

All in all, the food was quite nice. Especially the dessert. But Ray found it average though.
Oh well, different people have different taste.

(Just something extra)

After our early dinner, we went to Marina Barrage.
He surprised me with two Awfully Chocolate Cupcakes or whatever they are and a belated birthday present.
We just sat there and talked for quite some time.
It's a good place to go on a date, because you can get to know more about each other.

So yeah, overall this week was the best birthday week ever.
Will post another post about my birthday next week, after my exams.
Hope you enjoyed reading my blog.

Toby's The Dessert Asylum.

Started blogging again because SeokYin "forced" me too.

So yeah, we finally continued to go cafe hopping & we decided to start off at Toby's .
Our dinner date was on the 19th August by the way.

Location is written at the bottom of the post.

Toby's has this cozy feeling.
It is a really great place for you to just eat and chat with your friends.

They have the cutest menu!

I wanted to just grab some desserts but we ended up getting more food than we expected because there was a one-for-one promotion for POSB or DBS debit / credit card members! Well, it's only for pasta and pizza though and they charge the higher priced item.

If you order after 5Pm, you can just top up another $7 for the dinner set which is really worth it because it comes with two drinks and  two soup!

We decided to get Hawaiian Pizza & Grilled Chicken and Shrooms Tagliatelle Pasta.

And for our "free" drink, we had Ice Lemon Tea as well as Clam Chowder for the "free" soup of the day.

The Grilled Chicken & Shrooms Tagliatelle cost $14.95.
The pasta is accompanied by a light cream sauce.
It is SUPER yummy. I don't usually like to eat creamy pasta, but I totally have to make an exception for this!

The Hawaiian Pizza cost $14.95 too.
The pizza tasted great however it was really hard to cut.
But I guess it'll be easier for you to eat if you don't mind using your hands.

Finishing off our dinner by having dessert!
We ordered the T-Rex Mud Pie which cost $10.95 .
It's a double chocolate ice cream plus mocha almond ice cream finishing with a cookie!
I love this so much! Especially the cooking fillings (or whatever you call that) in between the pie!
It's a must try!

Overall, the food was great. You guys should really check it out! Don't forget to try the Mud Pie!

*PS: The prices does not include of GST & Service Charge.*
